This Scripture is from the the Old Testament from the book of Isaiah. Note its remarkable fulfillment through Jesus.

Isaiah 53
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Verse 11 refers to this Man who is sent from the LORD as a Righteous Servant (note this from v. 10), meaning that He would not only be sent to serve His people but that He would do so in the righteousness of GOD the Father.

The Servant sent by the Father was to "bare the sin of many" and make "intercession for the transgressors (v. 12)." He would do so by being "brought as a lamb to the slaughter (v. 7)."

The Righteous Servant would "justify many" or make many righteous (v. 11) ("justify" from Hebrewtsadaq: to cleanse, turn to righteousness) (Strong 6663).

And from his own "offering for sin," he would "see" "seed" or experience fruitfulness (v. 10) (seed from Hebrew ra'ah: to see, look upon, or present) (Strong 7200) ("seed" from zera': Hebrew for seed or fruitful) (Strong 2233).

Yet His own generation would not continue: "...who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living..." (v. 8).

Put in simple terms, the Righteous Servant, by giving Himself as an offering for sin, would present "seed" or fruitfulness (Isa. 1:9; Rom. 9:29, Rom. 11:1-25). The "seed" would be the first of righteous servants (Hebrew translation of seed is plural, meaning seeds) of what would produce many more to follow, and He would "bear their iniquities" (v. 11) or the iniquities of all to follow who would serve Him as also those since the time of Adam who believed by faith (Matt. 13:24-30, Matt. 13:37-43; Rom. 6:18; Heb. 11:13).

These are the saints (Deut. 33:3; Dan. 7:27).

God the Father would work through the Righteous Servant as Intercessor to gain many spiritual children as He did through Abraham to produce many physical children (Gen. 12:2, Gen. 15:5, Gen. 17:1-19; Rom. 8:34).

Sarah was chosen with Abraham to begin the physical seed that would be the nation of Israel (Gen. 17:15-19).

This nation was called as wife to the Maker and Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. (Jer. 31:31-33).
Isaiah 54:5
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

The Holy One is God because He is Maker. He is also Redeemer, the One who would give redemption. Yet He is "of Israel." And He would be called "the God of the whole earth" because people of all nations would turn to Him as God.

The church, the spiritual representation of the physical nation of Israel, is the bride of Christ, whereas the city of Jerusalem, also called the new Jerusalem, is the bride brought to earth. (Matt. 9:15; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:31-32; Rev. 21:2).

The spiritual children receive the promises given to Abraham as promised to his children since they are spiritual Jews "grafted in." (Rom. 11:15-25).

The children are referred to as servants because they belong to the One who is the Servant. Yet, they are His brethren and children (Heb. 2:12-13) since they are spiritually united to Him, a lineage applied from Father to Son and to the children.

Thus, Jesus as Intercessor links mankind to God spiritually as they were originally before sin. (Isa. 45:11; 1 Cor. 4:1; Rom. 1:1-7; John 15:2; Rom. 8:29; Heb. 12:22-26;Rom. 8: 16-19; Gen. 3:24; Rom. 5:14-21).

Therein is also given to Jesus the name "everlasting Father" (Isa. 9:6).

The Righteous Servant was "cut off out of the land of the living" with no physical generation of His own (v. 8) for He "hath poured out his soul unto death"(v. 12). But God would "prolong his days" (v. 10).

This speaks of His death and resurrection. God would "prolong his days" on earth through the spiritual "seed" that would continue to produce more spiritual children (via the ministry of the gospel) for those to follow (Rom. 9:28-29).

Jesus will return, for this generation (days) is to "prolong," meaning to cause to last for a time and not be permanent.

Note that had Israel as a nation accepted the Messiah during His time on earth, there would have been no prolonging of days and the next age could have followed. Although there were those Jewish who served Him (the "seed"),  the rejection of the Messiah did take place according to prophecy so that people of all nations of the earth would be given an opportunity, first to those who are Jewish by physical heritage (Rom. 1:16).

At the end of the age there will be a time referred to as the fulfilling of the gentiles.
(Ps. 22:27; Rom. 9:1-33; Rom. 10:1-17, Rom. 11:1-27)

And all those who belong to Him since the time of Adam and Eve will be resurrected.
(Matt. 28; 1 Cor. 15).
[particularly verses 20-26, 51-58]

Verse 12: "He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death..." For Jesus to fulfill this prophecy, he would have to be brought back to life after His own death, or how could he "divide the spoil with the strong" after death if not for a resurrection. (Rom. 6:8-10).

"...and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand."

New Covenant Scripture says that Isaiah 53 is prophecy fulfilled in Jesus.
Acts 8 26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. 27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. 32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? 35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

In the book of Acts, the apostle Philip is told by an "angel of the Lord" to go south. On his way, he encounters a eunuch from Ethiopia who was reading from the Book of Isaiah. This eunuch did not understand the meaning of what he read and asked for guidance from Philip.

After the eunuch reads from the prophet Isaiah, he asks Philip who the prophecy is about ("of whom speaketh the prophet this"). Philip explains to him the meaning by beginning "at the same scripture" and "preached unto him Jesus."

From the apostle Philip, then, we can conclude that the apostles knew and understood this Scripture to be prophecy of their Lord and Messiah and what He would do as the "Righteous Servant" (v. 11).

In the words of Jesus...

Luke 24
13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

[Also read Rom. 10:16.]

Compare Romans 9:29. As  the physical "seed" of Abraham was symbolic of the spiritual "seed" of the Messiah, so also there would continue to be those of the physical "seed" who would belong to Him as spiritual "seed."

"...Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed."

Further Scripture reading...

Matthew 11
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 20
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Isaiah 45
11 Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

Psalm 22
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28 For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
